Sassa revises November grant payment schedule for elections
Sassa has updated the November 2026 social grant payment schedule in South Africa to accommodate the Local Government elections held on 4 November.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) revised its November 2026 grant payment dates in South Africa because of the local government elections on Wednesday 4 November 2026. A fourth payment day, 5 November, is set aside for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.
“The fourth-day payment on 5 November 2026 is specifically intended for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process,” Sassa said. In a statement, SASSA said: “The agency remains committed to ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their grants in an orderly and reliable manner.”
November Payment Dates
Sassa’s revised schedule places Older Persons Grants on Friday 30 October 2026, Disability Grants on Monday 2 November 2026 and Children’s Grants on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Beneficiaries whose grants are under review are scheduled to receive payment on 5 November 2026.

Treasury Approved The Revision
The National Treasury approved Sassa’s revised November 2026 grant payment schedule after consultations. The approval allowed the South African Social Security Agency to adjust payment dates around the election period.
The local government elections are on 4 November 2026. The revised schedule moves the three regular payment days before election day and sets 5 November 2026, the day after, for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.
